Checking on your child
School Closings:
Notifications regarding school calendar closings such as holidays are handled monthly. Holiday closings generally include New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day. We may close Christmas Day and/or the day before (Christmas Eve) depending on when the days fall during the week. If school is closed due to weather or other causes the director will call every child's home before opening hours to inform parents of a closing and why. Parents may also call the director at home to inquire about such a closing.
Tardiness:
It is important for your child to attend daycare every day and to be on time to get the full potential of the learning we have to offer. Please call the school if your child is coming in later than usual. All children are expected by 8:00 am to receive full benefits of the school (meals, etc.). Ages 0-5 years should be no later than 10:00 am; for arrival after 10:00 am, please contact the director before bringing your child to the school.
Drop Off and Pick Up:
Consistency is important to a child's schedule, so please keep this in mind when dropping off and picking up your child. Parents picking up older children and infants or toddlers must first pick up the younger child/ren so that the older children do not disturb the infants or toddlers. It is against policy for any child over the age of two (2) to enter the infant toddler room so please be advised. This is for your child's safety as well as others.
Early Dismissal:
Please let your child's teacher know in advance if/when it is necessary to pick up your child at a time other than the normal time so that they can have the child ready (and not at nap time, etc.). Please remember that NO ONE can pick up your child that is not on your pick up list or emergency call list. It is important to keep this information updated.
Accidents:
Anytime a child is hurt at school, a detailed accident report will be written. Parents need to sign this form and it will be put into your child's file. If you would like a copy, please speak to the director.
Emergencies:
In case of an emergency, we will call 911 and then call the parent(s). It is vital that we have current contact information for parents at home, work, etc. Please fill out an emergency contact card with your child's teacher. It is the parent's responsibility to provide and keep this information updated at all times. While we will make every effort to contact you, should we be unable to notify you, we will not be held responsible for any problems that may occur.
Checking On Your Child
You may call the school at any time to check the status of your child. Should you decide to check on your child in person, be advised that if your child sees you, they may think you're there to pick them up so please take this into consideration.
